Artist Statement

The experiences that make a lasting impression are often small moments that become meaningful memories later. It could be a conversation in an energetic café halfway around the world, or maybe the feeling of standing beneath a mountain that feels absolutely enormous, a long road trip across the states, a landscape that looks like a painting, or just a fleeting interaction that shifts the way you see the world long after you've left it. My work begins when I recall those moments.

Working primarily in mixed media on linen, I build each piece through layers of charcoal, acrylic, oil, and expressive marks. I distill the feeling of experiencing places around the world into my painted version of the world, allowing figures, landscapes, and symbols to emerge only partially, letting memory and imagination become the main theme.

Growing up in rural Ohio, then building a life between Jackson Hole and worldwide travels, I've become fascinated by the way unfamiliar places expand our perspective. Every collection begins with an experience that challenged or inspired me. Whether the starting point is the American West, an Alpine village, or some other dot on the map, the work is ultimately less about geography than about transformation.

I believe curiosity is one of the greatest forces for growth. Stepping beyond what is familiar, whether through travel, conversation, or simply paying closer attention, has the ability to reshape how we experience both the world and ourselves. Painting has become my way of exploring that idea.

I hope these works create space for all viewers to bring their own memories and experiences. If a painting invites someone to pause, look longer, or remember a place that changed them, then it has done exactly what I hoped it would.

When I grow up I want to be an artist. I would because I like to draw. I would have my studio. And when I got bored I would go somewhere and draw what I see. When I’d have enough pictures drawn I would sell them.

Biography

I grew up on a farm in a town of 500 in northwest Ohio, where I spent countless hours drawing and getting creative. After competing as a Division I pole vaulter and earning a degree in Fashion Design, I made what seemed like an unlikely decision at the time: I packed everything I owned and moved to Aspen to work at the ski resort despite never having skied before.

That willingness to embrace the unfamiliar ended up shaping the rest of my life.

Over the following decade, I traveled extensively through all 50 states and dozens of countries, taking on creative work wherever opportunities appeared. Along the way, what began as selling small drawings to friends gradually evolved into commissioned artwork, large-scale murals, and collaborations with brands including Four Seasons and Orangetheory Fitness.

Today I split my time between Jackson Hole, Wyoming and the Swiss Alps, where I create mixed-media works inspired by experiences that have shifted my perspective. My paintings are collected by private homeowners and commissioned for luxury residential and hospitality spaces.

When I'm not in the studio, you'll usually find me skiing with my husband Owen, chasing my son Zylo through mountain villages, discovering a neighborhood café, or planning the next adventure that will inevitably find its way into a future collection.
